cupThe 2011 Cricket World Cup, tenth edition is being held from 19 February to
2 April 2011 in three countries of the Indian subcontinent: India, Sri Lanka
and Bangladesh. The forty-nine matches of the competition are played in
"One-day International" format (ODI), ie a match where two national
teams meet during a single day: each of the two teams has one round to score,

Bangladesh
is co-organizing a cricket world cup for the first time. The World Cup will
take place from February to April 2011, the first match will be played on
February 19, 2011.
Fourteen teams participate in the 2011 World
Cup, two fewer than in 2007. The ten nations whose federations are "full
members" of the International Cricket Cuncil are automatically qualified
for the event. Four places, up from six in 2007, are awarded through the World
Cup Qualification Tournament (formerly the ICC Trophy), the final leg of the
2007-2009 World Cricket League. It is held in April 2009 in South Africa
